Boston U IS fun! No, it is not as negative as people say. And to the person calling it: Bjew - you are truly a racist piece of crap/ (Actually the religous mix here is 30% protestant, 30% Catholic and % Jewish. And each of those groups are mixed by denomination.)

It's great being in Boston. You don't need a car and there's always something to do and see. If you've be cooped up in the suburbs this is the place for you - and it is not as "watch your back" at NYC. That's the good news! You will enjoy your environment.

However, academically it doesn't measure as high as they say it will. The Alumni network will not get you a job. When I would let an employer know that I too had graduated from Bu, they would laugh or ignore it. Alumni are NOT supportible of each other - they would actually rather hire some "non-BU" person. (I.E. Harvard grads hire each other, even San Diego state grads hire each other and help each other network.)

The Film programs are overrated for a fact. As are many of the other COM majors. Consider what the current cost is, and truly see if you can't obtain all that at a state college rate. You probably won't get a return for your money and you'll be paying off those student loans for YEARS! So, unless you have wealthy parents - look elsewhere. The smartest person I went to college with - transferred in her freshman year to Fitchburg State College. Take a clue. :) Good Luck (And no, I would not send my own kids to BU. Maybe Leslie College, or another school in Boston.)
