I sort of feel the need to restrain myself because not everyone has the chance to go to college. However, it needs to be said that this school is 100% garbage. I can't speak for other departments, but as a major major I can say that very few professors have anything intelligent to offer as far as expanding your academic horizons. 4 out of 5 professors you get from the math department will be absolutely dismal - people who are clearly bright in their area but could not teach a cow to chew grass. Higher level mathematics like abstract algebra and introduction analysis courses are things that few people can teach themselves, much less gain a good understanding of on their own - I don't care who you are. Right now I have a course being taught by a professor from a completely unrelated math subject because they only wanted to offer one section and couldn't get anyone to teach it. However the school has buckets of money to dump into a new football program and plans for a new stadium? What this school needs is an academic upheaval. There is much talk of the finance department at this school and that this is a good college for that. Don't hold your breath. I've had 2 accounting courses, two economics courses, and a finance course all as related work to my math degree and those instructors for those courses were absolutely horrible except for two who were good. One of the bad instructors was a graduate student who could barely speak english and another was some old CPA who was insanely arrogant and condescending. If you are an in-state student, this shouldn't even be on your list of backup schools. If you are from out of state, please please you shouldn't even be considering this school either way. I transferred from an in-state community college which turned out to be light-years ahead of this university in every way possible. I am d*** sorry I came here.
