Statistical Analyzer:

I love the academic program here at Rutgers Newark, not much complaints about that. It's just like any other place where you get great professors sometimes and bad professors sometimes. The class sizes are generally small, so you don't get lost in a sea of numbers.

However, the thing that makes this place horrible is the social life. You would never know if you didn't look it up that over 10,000 students come here because they all commute. Everyone goes home on weekends. All the organizations here are either academic centered ones or ethnic centered ones, sometimes even an ethnic academic club. During the day, there may be several events going on, but by nighttime, there's nothing to do but sit in your room. Weekends you can go to the frats. Yeah, you could go into the city, but what's there to do on campus?

As for class choices - don't come here if you'd like to explore a lot of different electives. They might have a pretty varied selection of classes here, but they're not offered every semester. Spring semesters here are usually horrid when it comes to choosing a class that you'd be interested in taking - there's absolutely nothing.

So if you're somebody who knows what you want to do and that falls into a major within business or science, and you really want to concentrate on academics and be able to party hard on weekends, then this school is for you. If you're somebody who's not too sure what you want to study/want to do liberal arts, you want to explore different interest groups and have fun outside the party scene, make lots of different kinds of friends, please stay away from this school. I hope I can transfer out.
