I took almost exclusively upper-level courses at PBA and rarely received a grade on any piece of work under an A. When I came to a state school and enrolled in intro-level classes (PBA has almost no general requirements, which bites you if you transfer), I figured I would have to step it up to maintain the same grades. I did step it up, and papers that would have easily- and did easily- earn a full A at PBA returned, at the HIGHEST, a B, down to C-'s. That's right… an A in an upper-level composition course at PBA returns something like a C+ average at other schools. Also beware, the campus DIES on weekends. Literally almost every single student leaves, and every weekend has either minimal or- the usual- no activities. Many times I walked around the campus on a weekend day and did not see a living soul. |
