You need to think long and hard about committing yourself to this program. Basically, if you want to go to a "party college" and ease your way to a degree through some easy major, then you will certianly drop out of Mass Maritime within your first semester (although I'll say this, maritimers can friggen drink, and they can party harder than any frat kid I've ever met).

MMA is a college for hard workers. If you major in engineering (marine or facilities) or marine transportation, be prepaired to work your ass off for 4+ years, plus deal with all the other bullshit that comes with a regimented academy. But the hard work WILL pay off in the end and it is worth it. I make excellent money and I'm 23 years old. My other friends who went to UMass or other party schools are making pennys right now, or can't find a job.

The engineering industry is full of MMA graduates, another big plus, as it makes finding a job that much easier. I get the

you graduated from Mass Maritime? Wow!

The friends I've made there are lifers, all of them are damn hard workers and successful. Best friends I've ever made.

But like I said, it is very challenging. My "youngie" class showed up to orientation, 320. We graduated around 150-160. The drop out rate is very high, as students mostly quit during freshman year, or get kicked out for some other reason.
