mercer has historical ties to prejudice and racism. go to mercer's history dept. and talk to dr. gardner for book list regarding mercer's history which is very much like its present. most of the campus population (faculty, administration and students) are functioning drunks, foreigners (not all of them) with a "white" superiority complex, sorority females "searching" for their husbands, "cops" that harass certain students of certain color (ask around), and faculty that will give you a hard time for a having an opinion, which will affect your final grade. Not one person will help you. My last semester a "professor" teaching that there is not such thing as race got one Korean student (pale) and a Chinese student (tanned) mixed up in regards to class credit. NO OFFENSE TO NO ONE BUT if you're a person with your own opinion, don't try to fit in because mercer's population is full of southern stereotypes, and who has brown skin and/or poor, DON'T APPLY. mercer will take anybody including people who say things like "homeless people have lost their reason to live…running them down is better than killing a puppy" or "I eat everything I kill." I have witnessed these statements while in class and in front of the "instructors." PLEASE ATTEND ANOTHER SCHOOL AND DON'T FOLLOW THE CAMPUS RECRUITERS; THEY WON'T TELL YOU EVERYTHING. READ OTHER SITES, INCLUDING ONES THAT RATE PROFESSORS' WORK. both locations—macon and atlanta—are for only money and keeping that "racial division" going. Save your sanity and money for somewhere else. PLEASE BE ADVISED.
