Most of the students agree that most of their classes are a ton easier than expected. Even some of the transfer students say that their previous college was harder than Indiana Tech. As long as you actually go to class, you're going to do fine.

The school is basically a sports college so often you hear drama between teams (arguments, fights, etc.).

From the beginning of the school year you will realize that many of the students will stay locked away in their room, thus making it hard for everyone as a whole to get to know eachother.

Going into the school I didn't expect there to be any parties. I was quite mistaken when the first couple weeks were nothing but parties every night. Occasional parties are held at the fraternity called "SigEp" or "The Geek House" which is the house with the heart on it across the street from the gymnasium. Many call the frat the CKC, which is short for "Cool Kids Club", an obvious statement of sarcasm after seeing the members. Many do not visit the frat house for fear of being sexually harassed by the fraternity family (which happens regularly). If you just want a place to go and drink without worrying about authority, just head over there for a bit.

There is usually never a problem finding a party on campus. Throwing small get-together parties in dorm rooms seems to be the trend on campus as it is done most frequently.

The campus buffet-style dining hall is notorious for serving some of the worst college food ever tasted. If students aren't in the mood for the main course meals they can grab a pizza or sandwich, that is all. The campus seems to be very unfriendly about helping prepare better foods frequently requested by students. Such items as chicken strips and fries are cheap and frequently requested, yet never implemented to the menu. A student is lucky to see 10 days out of the school year where the dining hall serves something simple and palatable such as a cheeseburger or hot dog.

The surrounding city of Fort Wayne may be the second largest city in the state, but that doesn't mean much to us at Indiana Tech since there isn't a lot that caters to college students. The first few weeks of college I found out that the place where most college students hang out at is Wal-Mart. There are multiple malls in Fort Wayne which are located no more than 10 minutes away from campus.

The class sizes are excellent. Most all of your professors will know your name within the first month or two, which unexpectedly made me feel more comfortable learning at the college.

Sometime between your financial aid, loans, scholarships, and other paperwork you will find out that Indiana Tech doesn't exactly run like a well oiled machine. Many of the people working behind the scenes are students that have been hired by the college. This leads to many errors and confusion at the beginning of the year.
