It's just nothing great. Most people here are really nice and friendly, and you won't find too many assholes. The campus life is pretty dull. If you can make your own fun you will be alright, but for the most part you will struggle to find something to do. The clubs here aren't great. Not too many people get involved or take them seriously. Academically it is mediocre. Some classes will be really hard but most are a breeze and don't require a real amount of work to succeed in. Getting by with a B average will be easy. I had a 3.75 gpa my first semester there and I felt like it was too easy. No one there is really interested in academics and it seems to be a safety school for many (it was for me).If you are looking for a laid back, relaxing college experience, UMW is a good choice. If you want to be challenged or have more of the stereotypical college experience, go elsewhere. That's what I'm doing. |
