I was told there would be many ways I could cover this tuition. The financial aid offered no suggestions other than personal loans (for which I needed a cosigner) and the typical FAFSA. The only outside source scholarships they offered were for highschool seniors. The financial aid office also has a poor attitude towards students. (I'm an older, non-traditional returning student.) My problem is mostly with the faculty of this school. Their attitudes toward the students are mean spirited and close minded. When you ask for help from a teacher, they "don't know how" (that is a quote from a liberal arts teacher). The faculty, rather than help you, point you to the next person who points you to another person. None of whom are capable of making a decision or giving you an answer concerning a multitude of things- teachers, grades, schedule, financial aid. Anything. This is my problem with this school. Also- the english classes are a joke. The reading list for freshman english is Romeo and Juliet, Dorian Gray, and Petrarch. I read those in high school! And they are all male writers we read, male painters we are taught about, and male teachers in the school. For an all female school. |
