The feeling of community here is amazing. I've made wonderful friends, especially in my dorm. There is a lot of work, but people still find time to do fun things like build igloos, play sardines, play quidditch, and watch movies. There are lots of parties that happen on the weekends, but if thats not your thing, there's always plenty of other stuff to do as well. The campus is beautiful. Even though its winter (and I'm from southern California), I still think the location could not be better. The food here is amazing, too, by the way. The surrounding town is small but very cute. It has a great Co-op, a grocery store, a couple of all-purpose stores, and some Vermont-souvenir type places, as well as some fun restaurants and a bar, all within easy walking distance. As for the students, there are a few who are rich/entitled, but they definitely do not dominate the campus. I'd say that a lot if not most of the student body at any given time is wearing jeans and a t-shirt/sweatshirt. Just about everyone I've met is welcoming and friendly, usually some amazing hidden talent. The first year seminar programs is awesome, as is outdoor orientation. All of my professors knew my name the first week, and were always available to help. |
