If you are not part of that demographic you will have a hard time making friends and staying positive. A VERY large percent of the freshmen drop out after the first year. At first, I took this as a sign that the school was difficult and many people would not be willing to work hard, however I discovered in the first semester exactly why this happens. Yes some students simply are not cut out for the work, but more importantly it is because the first year "foundation" program is very broad and somewhat discouraging. If you are a photographer you will not touch a camera until your 2nd year, and I hope you can draw because you will be taking life drawing and foundation drawing - although many argue that these classes do not apply to all the majors. If you are a fine arts student you may well enjoy foundation year! But besides these two reasons, the students here possess a certain "air" that may well set them apart in the business world, but don't expect to be able to talk to ANYONE for more than the first semester because almost everyone will drive you up the wall. Let's just say Moore is a school full of strong personalities and strong work. You know yourself best, don't just go to this college for the education, go to it if you have superior patience and tolerance. Oh and piss on Mike Geno he's an asshole to everyone its not personal. |
