Boston University is a good school, but that's bout it. The class difficulty (speaking from experience in the college of arts and sciences and the school of education) is moderately high, and the classes suffer from moderate grade deflation (making it increasingly hard to get a higher GPA). The student resources are vast, with a large library, university-wide wifi access, and great writing/research programs (though the student health service is pathetically unhelpful at times). There is school spirit, especially surrounding the BU mens hockey team. Social life is what you make it, there are many extracurricular clubs, student groups, and an actively growing greek life. You can find parties easily, but they are hard to get into due to the the police being very hard on house parties. Overall, it would not be difficult to go to BU and just coast through the next 4 years without a problem, but the school does have some fun and growth opportunities to offer. And it's in Boston, that's a plus. |
