The majority of the student body lives on campus in the dorms. Intramural sport involvement is reportedly around 70% of the campus, which is phenomenal, if you think about it. It is very easy to get involved in groups on campus if you want to; the college puts on an activities fair at the beginning of the year every year so everyone has a chance to join an organization if they want to. The town is fairly small. If you're looking for a lot of things to do off campus, you don't really have many options. There is a one-screen movie theater in town, but that's really the only attraction besides restaurants. This means that you have to be creative about how you spend your time. It doesn't mean that there's nothing to do. It's impossible to have nothing to do when you're within half a mile of 2,400 people your age with similar interests. You just have to be inventive instead of just reverting to the old standby of going out on the town.On the up side, if you have a car or know someone else who does, the Outlets are close by, and there's a Wal-Mart a couple miles away from campus, so you don't have to bring everything with you. Pittsburgh is close-ish; about an hour away from campus. It's nice to go there once in a while, but it's a bit far to go every weekend. |
