I didn't visit many colleges due to the amount of financial aid/scholarships that hood gave me, if i were to go anywhere else it would have been much more expensive. I have come to realize that Hood draws certain type of person to their school, I don't know how they do it but everyone is the same. When I was in high school I had a lot of friends I could almost start a conversation with anyone in my grade. Here though, after 3 years of going here I've come to believe that this is where students that had no friends in high school or were absolute rejects and become cool. I seriously feel that everyone here is an absolute loser. You will come to believe it too. The dorms are horrible and completely out of date as is almost everything else. The library is nice(doesnt open till 3 on sundays what the hell!) the science building is up to date but really everything else isn't. There is a turf field that just got put in. This is one of the things that really pissed me off since going here. Our lacrosse team has only won 1 game in its history to a team that was its first year playing. We don't have a football team or a baseball team. Our gym/weight training room is pitiful to the point i am embarrassed to walk in there. they should have spent their money wisely and redid the gym. BUT WAIT they are redoing the gym. too bad it took them so long to raise the millions for the field and at the rate they are raising money for the gym it wont be here for countless years to come. They are planning on building 2 more dorms so they can have more students, so they can bring in more money but the dorms already here are crappy. I could keep going on and going and going but I'm going to stop. Hood just wants your money they were bankrupt a few years back and are still in the rut. Thats why it went from only a girls school to coed. seriously think twice before coming here. do an overnight. don't let the financial aid fool you into having a miserable 4 years. which will actually be 5 or more because the advisors don't advise you to graduate in 4 years. and don't push you to graduate on time. its stupid |
