I am very happy with my decision to come to Marywood. This school is a perfect fit for me, but it might not be for everyone. Below is my opinion.

Food - The food is really good. There are lots of healthy choices. I personally think it is a little expensive. I went with the 12 meal plan a week. It is easy to grab a bagel or to have cereal or some lunch in your dorm. I also have a good storage of snacks in my room.

Education - My classes are quite challenging, but I expected that for college. There is a lot of work, so I spend a lot of time studying and so does my room mate. The professors got to know me right away because there are under 25 students in every class. One of my classes only has 16, it's great. I would have gotten lost at a state school, 35 to 40 students is way too many! I feel I am really learning and will get a good education. For the

first time in my life I am enjoying school and the work. And I am also very thankful to have a writing center LOL.

Dorms - All dorm rooms in every college are small. At Marywood, I like having the private bathroom and also it is great having the sink in the room. You do not have to buy bed lifters, the beds are already equipped to go up as high as you want. I like having my bed very high with my desk under it, this gives me more space in my room. There is a laundry room on every floor and it is free, no coins needed. There is also a student lounge and study room on every floor. Everything is kept clean.

Social - I have made so many good friends here. There are a lot of things to do. The gym is a great way to stay in shape. The SGA organizes lots of different FUN activities for every day/night of the weekend. The mall is not too far and a great place to shop. Wal-Mart is almost in walking distance. You can always show your school spirit by attending a school sports event. We have a lot of sports teams for a small school. There are also intramurals

for more of a fun, less competitive time and pick up games too, ultimate freebee seems to be a favorite. I have a good time just watching some of these crazy games. There are tons of clubs you can join and each one has the r own activities. The school really tries to encourage ev ryone to join the parish volunteering group. This group is always busy doing something interesting and it is also a good thing to go on your resume. I go home once a month, but I prefer to stay on weekends because it so some much fun. There is a group of students that goes skiing every Saturday in the winter to a place that is in Scranton. Bingo is once a month, I know that sounds lame, but believe me it is so much fun and you can win lots of money! The student center is a great place to hang with friends and then there is always movie, crafts, and game nights. Scranton has everything if you want to venture out

a little. We even get discounted tickets to the movies in town. There are so many things to do and always something going on, you will never be bored here!

Orientation - Marywood has a great orientation program. They try to get everyone familiar with the school and do a lot of activities to promote new friendships.

Location - Scranton Pa is an up and coming area. I would not mind living up here one day. The people are friendly and hard working. The area is safe and there is something for everyone.

Security - I feel so safe on our campus. I have walked alone at night many times and was never frightened. Our security does a good job looking after all of us. They take their job very seriously. They even helped me one night when my car wouldn't start. Always say "Hi" to a security guard.

Student body is mostly white with a middle class catholic up bringing. Everyone is friendly and considered to each other. We are like one big family. I have more friends now then I did in high school. I have made friendships here that I know will last a life time.

Facilities and campus - are up to date and clean. I like that I can walk the whole campus in a short about of time, but I also like that we are on 115 acre so there is lots of extra space to roam. I don't like the hill. The sports teams like the new turf field with lights. We just got brand new pool facilities. Marywood is not afraid to spend money to keep things new and nice; this place has definitely become my second home.
