I will try to explain why as I focus my review on this department. EquipmentPrior to applying, prospect students are led to believe they will beprovided with ample of hands-on experience in [..] well-equipped laboratoriesIn reality, most of the equipment is very old and the students hardly ever experiment with them (if ever). The department does have plenty of computers, but internet access is shamefully blocked on all of them.EducationThe education here is so-so. Oftentimes, the professors are not proficient in the subjects they teach. ProductionThe professors produce very little inspirational work and what can you expect from the students? There are many abandoned rusting projects laying around and present work-in-progress with little possibility of becoming functional.AdvisingThe students are commonly disoriented and the staff do not offer much aside from a long-promised "4 year degree". No internships, worthy advice or anything.ConclusionWhile I would not recommend this program to anybody, some people may actually benefit from it especially those with very little preparation in the past. The material is introductory at best and it's not difficult to get good grades. |
