I chose UCSB over some more esteemed colleges, and know it was the right decision. I'm alot happier here than I was at "fun" tours at other colleges.

Most of the administration is really helpful, but there are a select few who have a lot of power and really do misuse it. You just have to work around those as best you can.

Professors in all the departments I've had classes in have all accommodated students for office hours.

If I didn't mention the beach, I'd be leaving out a big part of the school. I literally mean two (adjacent) sides of campus that, seriously, have ocean views. And not just views—you can walk on the beach in about 10 minutes, or 20 if you're crossing campus. Amazing!
