I did not have many expectations coming into this school. However, it has been better than I thought it would.

CONS:

  • Super small campus
  • Lots of parties on weekends, which make it hard to meet people if you don't party (like me)
  • Very cliquey (like high school), another reason it's hard to make friends
  • Intramurals are confusing and not easy to be part of
  • Most students are from Sioux Falls or some small town in southern MN or SD
  • Super old buildings and gross much of the time
  • Freshmen and sophomores only have 2 options for housing, and both are dorm buildings.
  • Weekends get boring

    • PROS:

  • Professors are very accessible and helpful with schoolwork
  • Althought the campus buildings are old, the campus itself is pretty
  • Many activities for students are planned, such as movies shown in the Back Alley and lots of dances

    • If I could do it over, I would not have chosen Augustana, and I still haven't given up the idea of transferring somewhere else. However, you do become used to the school, so I will most likely stay another year at least. Hope this helps!
