Cornell served as a proving ground. It is a rigorous and competitive environment. Students who are lazy or entitled will fail there. Students who graduate enter a workforce filled with "entitled" young workers. Only then can Cornell graduates comprehend what Cornell's environment has done to prepare them for success. For admissions success - Model work ethic and behavior after successful people who contribute to their community. Obviously good grades help. Be well rounded. Balance activities in your school and community and demonstrate leadership. Personal recommendations help separate you from the pack. |
