Most of the negative feedback seemed to be from people who really would NOT be successful anywhere else so I wouldn't pay too much attention to them. I took online and inseat courses and after I graduated in 2005 I had a job lined up during my final semester. I have since done many new and exciting things thoughout my career thusfar and I owe most of it to Davenport. I would agree that the campus life is a little dull due to the fact that the main campus is in Calendonia (15 minutes from Grand Rapids) but if you have issues with driving 15 minutes, you've just got issues. It was never a problem for me at all. The faculy here were grerat as well, I had an amazing experience with the smaller classroom sizes and hands on instruction I recieved and because of that I am returning to Davenport for my Master's degree in the fall. I would say do some research and look around, but if you're going to listen to a bunch of these folks rant and rave about a ton of non sense and not make your own educated (keyword educated) decision, than you're more than likely as ignorant as they are and quite frankly there isn't a university on the planet that can help you.Education is what YOU make if it, don't blame a school for your lack of drive and dedication. I wouldn't be where I am today without Davenport University, mostly because I made the most of my education from Davenport and by applying the things I learned into real world situations. The bigger problem is our generation who thinks that someone is going to spoonfeed everything to us, it just isn't the way the world works no matter how lazy some of these people are. The Davenport graduates who are tremendously successful aren't on some college blog board ranting and raving about their so called negative experiences because THEY HAVE JOBS and ARE TOO BUSY. |
