I'm an incoming freshman and I have to say that SJU is everything they portrayed it to be, which may or may not be good news to everyone.

To everyone who complains about SJUs strict rules, you have to remember that this is a CHRISTIAN college. Of COURSE things like drinking are going to be strictly forbidden, but to be honest, no one would know you were drinking if you didn't stumble around like idiots afterwards. It's not like they're checking your bags or anything…

People complain about the space of the dorms , but you took the college tour just like the rest of us. You knew exactly what you were getting into. And if you didn't, it's YOUR fault for not visiting the campus first…

Speaking of which, the campus is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Every year they're adding something new for us.

I heard someone complain about the gym? That it's too small to accommodate the amount of people using it? Well, with all the other sports the campus offers, it's not their fault everyone tries to use it during common hour.

I cant speak for other departments, but mine is very welcoming and helped get a lot done. You are sent running around a lot, but only because the campus is so big! Everyone's used to being in the same building, but guess what? This isn't high school anymore. You have to do things on your own now, you're an adult. Don't blame SJU for your insolence.

As for the food, it's bland at times, but not bad. But it has to be bland because they're accommodating a WHOLE CAMPUS, which means they have to cut down on seasonings and things that not everyone can eat. This isn't your mother's home cooking kiddies.

Back to the dorms, you're living in shared space, not a penthouse. Not to mention it's rent free and lights and gas free, among other utilities. Why do you think tuition's so high? You want the best, you have to pay for it.

The campus is in a great location, accessible to anywhere you want to go in an hour's or less' time. Also they provide you with shuttle buses. What more could you ask for?

They have many extracurricular activities and if there isn't one you like, they let you create your own! SJU had all kinds of test time stress buster events for the students; even their own game show and carnival, not to mention the various concerts with the likes of Maroon 5, Ciara, etc.

Everyone's really nice. Of course, there are rude people, but there are rude people EVERYWHERE. It's a very diverse campus and everyone shares a common goal; getting their degree.

I would recommend this school to anyone. SJU really does try hard to accommodate everyone, but students come in with these fantasy ideas of college that they procured from TV and expect it to be like that. Well, it's time to wake up.
