I originally did not want to go here but I learned to love it. I have really grown accustomed to the small campus vibe and wouldn't change it for the world. All of my teachers know my name and have time to meet with me. The vast majority of them I have had for years. After spending four years here and living on campus, the staff and faculty are my family. You grow really close with your friends and get to know almost everyone that goes here. I feel Benedictine not only gave me a solid education (in both academia and religion), but I learned so much about the world and how to strive to be a better person. I 100% credit BU to my maturity, it was a great place to make that difficult transition from troubled teenager living with mom to an independent, well-rounded adult. No it does not have a great party scene, but fun can be found anywhere. In retrospect I am thankful I did not attend a generic party school, BU had originality and is unique. I learned more here than I could have ever learned elsewhere. Life will be full of parties and getting drunk, but these values are irreplaceable. My life is in a great place and I am a very happy person, I find this to be a common theme amongst my BU peers. The quality of living here is great as well. I lived on campus 3 years. Naperville and downtown Chicago are not too far if your looking for fun. |
