I would visit friends at more modern universities and dream of elevators, air conditioning and washing machines on the floor, but then we got wifi faster than anyone I knew, were involved in cutting research and had incredible guest lecturers. Another thing that I hated was how hard it was to get into Boston. This made going out such a chore and I really missed my car. The good thing is that there is always something on campus since many people cannot be bothered to go out. What really pushed me over the edge sometimes was the weather in Boston. I come from the tropics and was not prepared to how the cold would affect me. I preferred not to go out or take early/late classes just to avoid the extra chill. |
