Chatham College is Pittsburgh's best kept secret. Academics are strong, Profs are engaging and excellent, all classes are taught by professors (no TA's), the student body is friendly, supportive, and intelligent, and the campus is totally beautiful. It is a small school, but it is within close distance of Pittsubrgh's larger cultural resources and other universities. Chatham is not for the overly conservative or closed minded. Some people have an impression that because it is a women's college everyone must by gay. This is totally untrue. I'm not homosexual, nor was the majority of the student body. In addition, guys from area colleges seem to respect that Chatham women are serious about learning and not typical partying types. If education and learning is your priority you will love it here! There are so many opportunities to take interesting classes, try new things, travel abroad, and interact with brilliant profs and interesting students of many backgrounds. If you want to party and drink your college years away, look elsewhere. If you want to go to college in Pittsburgh or even just the east coast, Chatham is one of the best. |
