I would have to say in the beginning I struggled a lot to find my place in the my program which is visual communications. Some instructors were very helpful to me, the rest were not., unfortunately their were more unhelpful then helpful. It is true one has to be a deep learner in order to accomplish the project at hand. I am 38 years of age going back to school was not easy for me.., but I ended up liking the career path I choose. I recently have been tested and have been placed under the disability act., which does not matter to any instructor. The accommodations I am to receive are not being met at all. This is a state law that is not regarded as real. I am classes away from expected graduation date and between trying to raise two children on my own and no employment it is starting to become very difficult for me to finish. I wish I had made my decision to attend a different school. When I tried to explain to a certain instructor that I was unable to afford the materials for the project she acted as if I was trying to lie my way out of doing what was expected of me. Since I started the program I have been working on school work only, I have no social life or a solid relationship with my kids since all my time is spent on trying to complete projects and assignments. I do not care about my social life not existing anymore, but I do care about my children, until recently I had to send my son to live with his mother who is not the best candidate for raising my son. I do not want to be in this school anymore, but it feels like I am trapped. I would like to transfer to a different school but it is hard to do since most of my credits are not transferable. I have spent a lot of time, money, and energy in this institution I do not wish to continue my education here any more. I would advise all those who are considering attending this school to find some where else, like a real accredit college like UIC, DePaul, so on and so forth. This is a for profit business your life and it's unwanted situations are of no concern to this store. The classrooms have been getting smaller since I first started. I hope all those who have been ripped off by this store get the justice they deserve?shut them down!
