Like others, I feel compelled to write because of some of the negative posts on this board.

Things like "everyone I know hated this place," or "students are all arrogant/a$/rich kids/etc," was just not my Siena Experience. My Siena experience was all about meeting people who went on to join the peace corp, who studied abroad, who volunteered, who did habitat for humanity, who spring break it up, who wanted to do well in school and party hard *yes, that happens here, too.

Make no mistake about it- there is affluence on the campus and there are arrogant a**holes, but where won't you find that? Especially when you're paying $30,000 in tuition. If that's all you focus on, that's all you're going to get.

Furthermore, 99.9% of students that I came across were all about the community aspect of Siena College. If you met someone for the first time, it didn't matter who/what you were, you became friends quick because you were from Siena.

There was sooooooo much to do on campus. Just get involved in a few clubs and you will love this place.

The friars on campus are the nicest people you will ever meet- make no mistake about it. I still talk to Father Dennis, 4 years after graduation.

Siena College has something like a 90% or higher retention rate, so they must be doing something right.

There is something very wrong in the administration- I don't know who's best interest they have in mind, but it doesn't seem to be the students. They make rules that no one wants at the drop of a hat. So that is definitely something that needs to be fixed, but did not ruin the experience for myself or anyone else I know.

If you're looking for a small, private school, with lots of opportunities and a great campus life, Siena College is definitely worth a look.
