I am a very involved student, and like to have control over what I am learning. With exception in the CORE classes (the general ed courses every student is required to take) I have found absolutely incredible faculty who are always working very hard with me to provide me with the most ammount of opportunities possible. I feel a little out of place because most people seem to be either some sort of graphic design or game design major. So there are a lot of computer nerds. But I just surround myself with the people from the business division and that is enough for me. The international study programs are ENDLESS! There are so many great options and Champlain will work hard to make sure you are abroad for as much time as possible. Just consider that every time you try to get an innovative experience abroad, you will have to fight tooth and nail against the CORE program, and you will lose. It's really a pain, because as a student who is a die-hard nerd, who really is passionate about their major, I find this insulting. But aside from the limiting CORE regulations, you will have an amazing experience. But if there are any faculty from Champlain reading this, MAKE THE CORE MORE FLEXIBLE!!!! it's not going to hurt anybody! For me it would allow me to do SO much more with my undergraduate degree. It is really very limiting. |
