Simply put, don't expect to get good advice from your academic advisors. I know of several people who thought they were going to graduate only to find out 1/2 way through their final semester they need to take another class. The system used to determine if you need additional classes for graduation is cryptic and difficult to work through. The chair of my college wouldn't respond to my questions when my advisor couldn't figure out what classes I needed to take and I didn't hear from the registrars office until it was too late to add a class. I have friends in other majors that have run across the same arrogant attitude. These chairs are nothing but a bunch of paper pushers that act as if they are doing the student a favor by talking to the student.Cheating is rampant and the college does little to nothing to stop it. I guess it is a good thing if you think cheating is ok. In many of my classes the professors rant about their views instead of having a discussion about all view points. The school does nothing to stop this type of behavior and continues to employ professors that can't teach. If you are considering BSU you should consider a university where they care about their students success. |
