They really do have strong programs in Humanities, especially Languages, and political science, international relations, economics and philosophy. However, if you are counting on financial aid as a make-or-break, then do not be fooled. AU will without exception take back the vast majority of the scholarships and grants by junior and senior. Seriously, I had a 3.9 after my sophomore year, and they cut my scholarship in half. I couldn't afford the school anymore and had to transfer. Talking to all my friends, the cuts after sophomore year are UNIVERSAL. So, if you can afford it or are willing to take big loans, go here! It's a great school socially and academically. But the Financial Aid Office will wipe the floor with you if you're counting on them!! Be warned!! |
