Partying involves a few people getting drunk together and then maybe going to a house party (which is usually a worse party than in high school). The school is absolutely beautiful. Brick buildings and green grass and trees everywhere. Very "college" feel.Sporting events are WEAK. Football games are just like high school and there is zero school spirit. They are quite generous with financial aid which a lot of the time makes it more affordable than a state school. One thing that really annoys me is how people here act like this is a prestigious school. Its not. I know people that get in with SAT scores i would have gotten if I took the test in 7th grade. But apparently the school looks good to most grad schools, though I do not know why. Don't get me wrong, its a good school. Better academically than a University of Oregon or OSU. The people that go on and on about how hard it is to get in are the ones that annoy me. You'll get in with a solid 3.4 and 1600 SAT.Another thing is Californians sometimes have a difficult time adjusting to the small school. Most are constantly told that a big school is what college is all about and when they get here it is like they are living at a high school. 2000 undergrads…People are very nice and open. But everyone is liberal and won't even consider another viewpoint. But that may add to their hippy-like kindness so I'm okay with it. |
