It ranks high amongst other universities. Regardless of these rankings a majority of the classes and professors were a joke. Theories are just theory and don't translate into the real work world. I was successful in my studies with a 3.2 GPA and having an internship through the Human resource Office, but have nothing to show for it. This economy has hurt recent graduates and we can barely pay off our student loans. I have also found that it doesn't matter how you've succeeded in the past, but how you can play the office politics and networking. Just being a hard worker won't cut it. IT REALLY IS WHO YOU KNOW. I was extremely active in the student life through ASB, but it was still frustrating to work with the lazy popular students in high roles and the penny pinching administration. And forget a great student life off campus. parkland was home to the tv show COPS. And prepare to not have any other interests then wearing sweats to class, drinking on the weekend and playing beer-pong. There are some more unique characters with interest in art and "good" music. And most of the dorms were built to be temporary…they are still around. |
