Bennington College is an amazing school for students who are creative, highly motivated and willing to work a lot. The college gives every individual the chance to become greatly acquainted with their interest but still challenges students to explore fields beyond their majors. The course load can be overwhelming but is absolutely beneficial. Due to the small course sizes, teachers are always approachable and willing to help with problems. Students have a lot of freedom and the only thing that is expected is attendance in class, which comes along with a very strict policy about missing classes. The social life at Bennington is quite different to most colleges because the campus is so sheltered (the Bennington bubble). Most people know each other, which means gossip spreads easily but the small size also has some great advantages. The campus feels very homey and safe and the student body can be compared to a big family. It can feel a little incestuous, as people run out of options very fast and the dating scene is pretty small. There are of course some snooty people, which is unavoidable at an expensive college but most students are very friendly and fun to hang out with. Age and year don't matter much as all students can take every class and parties are usually open to everyone.
