This is negative/advice.

The school is very money hungry. I honestly don't think anyone cares about the students. I am transferring and it seems that they don't care about you until you say you are transferring. I had to go to countless meetings and have conversations with some of the people from res life and freshmen life. They came up with the conclusion that I am homesick, of course I'm homesick, I live 750 miles away. I didn't want to tell them that the biggest reason I am transferring is because of the people and the New Yorker mentality. I just hate it.

The school does have a lot to offer however. Study abroad programs are good and you should defiantly go here if you want to study law because I hear the law program is very good, but other than that the academics are nothing special. But of course it looks good on your resume.

Social:I am not a party person, so I don't know about the party scene, I did go to one and I hated it. A lot of students here just want to party and get drunk so if you are serious about your school work you should probably not go here. The gyms are really nice and the work out room is too. Take advantage of that if you decide to go here. The basketball team is um good? They are good enough to be D1 but for a D1 team they're not very good, but if you follow basketball you probably know that.

The school is kind of disorganized, there is a class called discover new york, which is probably the biggest waste of time, it is required that all frosh take it. At first I was excited to take it because I thought it would teach me some useful information like how to take a bus or a train (I'm not from New York) or what parts of the town are dangerous. But I didn't learn anything from the class and as a result I ended up in a very dangerous part of town one night when all I wanted to do was go to the movies. But we managed to get back all right when we talked to NYPD.

The students: I have met some really cool people here, people I am defiantly going to miss when I transfer. But unfortunately. I have met some horribly immature people here. For example, we had a speaker come who survived the genocide in Rwanda, I can honestly say that was probably the most impact-full story that I have ever heard, she was amazing and talked about how it is so important to learn to forgive people. She taught us about things we can take with us throughout our lives. What did the students have to say about it? "Such a waste of time." "Boring" some of the more prominent students I met said "it was good, but it was a waste of time." (How is something good a waste of time?) I looked around and saw people sleeping, texting, talking, on their laptops, and THROWING PAPER BALLS at each other, yes, a bunch of college kids acting like they're in middle school. I was greatly disappointed and knew right then that I defiantly had to transfer. I did not sign up to share classrooms with a bunch of 10 year olds. I know 13 year olds who are more wise and more respectful. It was ridiculous. I can go on and on with more examples of things like that happening in classes.

The administration: They can be helpful when they want to be. But I asked my adviser a lot of questions and she would just send me somewhere else for the answer. What is she getting paid for again?

The dorms: Live off campus, it's as simple as that. Or, I talked to an upperclassman who lives on one of the school apartments on campus, she said they are really nice, probably the best thing about the school.

This school just isn't for me, (or anyone else who wants to start working on achieving their goals now who isn't a law or pharmacy major).
