The gaming program is constantly changing its classes. I've seen the way projects graded go from the final is pass or fail, or being based on what you can show you can do. There are a few occasions where you will be informed of homework or tests VERY last minute.
If you want to make games in this degree you must be willing to learn and perform programming in classes for the Unity 3d game engine currently used. *LEARN JAVASCRIPT BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT BE TAKING A CLASS TO LEARN IT*
There are also some classes to teach you how to make 3d models and use digital painting programs. You as the student must research how to do more advanced things for all classes yourself.
The focus currently is to learn to use FREE development tools to make a game -for pc, console, or mobile devices- to make you a one-man game designer. Blender and Unity 3d mainly at the moment, until something better comes along.
You will be doing tutorials posted by people on the internet as assignments to learn the programs and MUST do so in order to learn and apply your skills in class for projects.
Classes for this program will require most, if not all of your free time to get better. You can only get help outside of class from fellow students.
You will be spending a bit of money on things for the class sometimes. If you want to go to any industry conferences you have to go to Austin, and then it will cost from 100 to 500 or more dollars. If you want to meet or get advice from people in the industry this is the only way, unless something free comes up that year.

I started with a full class of about 20+ people my first semester. At the end during final projects there were 6 of us left. Saw the same results the next semester. People in lower semester classes will sometimes get bounced around into higher semester classes to fill their quota so the classes stay open. You must keep up your morale. Classes are also sometimes set up horribly. Just hope that no one cancels your morning class after you drove an hour and a half from your town just to be on time for…well, not your 2 hour morning class.

School life is dull on campus, there are break-ins even with police supposedly everywhere (was once in class, after lunch, with someone who lived on campus when he was informed of all his games and flat screen tv were stolen from his apartment), and you have to drive 10 miles to go to the movies, mall, shop around, or go someplace good to eat.
Try the program at your own risk.
