One thing you really need to understand is that if you want to enjoy your stay at SU, you're going to have to work at it. Put yourself out there and be positive and friendly. A lot of people would go to class and then stay in their dorms and then complain that SU wasn't fun at all. Well, you're going to have to make the effort. There are many parties you can go to (it's Boston for crying out loud), or you could go to one of the surrounding clubs with some friends, or (if you're 21) one of the many very good pubs around the place. You could join a lot of the clubs and make a ton of friends. You could join Wicked, the hip hop dance team, be a radio jockey for Suffolk Radio, write for the Suffolk Journal, join one of the fantastic singing groups, get into a school production, or make friends from any of the many surrounding schools. I have friends at Emerson, BU, Harvard and BC. Finding a job is easy as there are so many available, both in school and around. |
