I have read the other reviews and honestly, they must have been very young and not ready for the life lessons that a Naropa education provides. Not only was I prepared for the life of a psychologist, I was ready to face my own demons. The premise of Naropa is that if one wants to be a mental health therapist, then you need to look at your own issues. The powerful messages of transference and counter-transference are an integral part of understanding the client/therapist dynamics. I have been in the mental heath field for 25 years..the sickest people I have worked with have been co-workers…my Naropa education prepared me for working with those who are mentally ill without getting my own issues in the way. |
