Out of high school I was a bit of a wild child and BC helped me calm down and find who I was academically, spiritually and socially. I found that the Christian environment here was nothing like I had expected. BC has a statement of Faith for all of her faculty and staff; however the students are not required to have a statement of Christian Faith. The leadership at BC is amazing and they guided me in every aspect of my life. It is neither too conservative nor liberal. I had the opportunity to travel internationally with BC. I had a stellar GPA at BC, which was refreshing since in high school C?s were common to see on my tests. I developed lifelong friendships with my professors in and out of my major and minor. The pro and con of Bluefield in my opinion are the same. It is small. Pro: 12 to 1, Student to Teacher ratio that creates one on one attention. Every question is answered. Con: Everyone knows what is going on all the time. I recommend that if you are looking at Bluefield College to visit it and spend plenty of time on campus before you commit. BC does not work for everyone, so see if it is a perfect fit for you. |
