I was lucky enough to get "adopted" by a couple professors who then guided me to other professors they respected in other fields. By the end, I had a reasonable facsimile of a traditional Liberal Arts Education. My concern with recommending my alma mater to others is primarily based on my belief that I had a unique educational experience at YSU. I did not witness many of my peers having this same experience. They were getting "job training." Also, most of the great professors I had are now retired with the exceptions of Dr. Minogue and Dr. Shipka in the Philosophy dept. I am simply not tuned in to whether the newer professors are reaching out to the current students like I was. I hope they are. |
