I am a freshman at Emerson, and decided that I had to transfer within the first 2 months. I am a stage management major here, and I knew immediately that it wasn't something I wanted to do professionally. Emerson is a great school for someone who knows exactly what they want to do and is ready to get involved and fight to be the best. It's highly competitive, especially in performing arts, and for me I did not feel comfortable or competent enough to get involved.Emerson, however, is filled with wonderful people of all types and I made fabulous friends here within the first night. People are so approachable and everyone is so unique and different that it's hard not to be accepted by them. There is a scarcity of straight males however, if that is important to you.Boston is a great city, and there are always things to do if you want to find them, but as every college you need to want to find the fun.Ultimately, if you are passionate about what you want to do, Emerson is the place to be to get a head start in that career. Remember, though, that if you do change your mind Emerson does not offer many other majors. That is what happened to me. |
