This school is a complete ripoff…of course you will hear- you have to be self disciplined, blah blah blah…first off- the courses are terrible and extremely limited, and the farthest away from any technical skills that you WILL need to succeed- ..the building itself is awesome, but with tourists coming here any time they want-it's not a huge plus. the classes are ridiculous. i took a variety of classes ranging from film, sculpture, and 'new genres'(which is basically a bunch of cliche art school professors that tell you how crazy they are but in the most pretentious way possible) sound horrible? it is. imo- new genres should be something truly expanding, the cliche student projects i've seen allowed at this place is horrendous. This school is not hard to get into, i don't know how they make it seem so competitive in acceptance, but it's a fraud. I've seen the most dead beat idiots in my life here…all they can talk about is what they want to make- and then never ever do. It's dreadful. If you are thinking about living in the dorms- good luck!! they aren't anywhere close to the school and are in the tenderloin, so bring your glock kids- i did succeed in finding awesome opportunities, only after i left this school and focused on work i could have been making if not at this school
