Statistical Analyzer:

I was a bit of a non-traditional student, but I had a great experience.

Academics: The history program at Marymount is phenomenal. And I am not saying this just because I was a good student—on the contrary, there were times when I struggled through some very tough courses. I got my first ever "C" at Marymount and was devastated—but it was an insanely hare class and I was not surprised, just disappointed that I was not as prepared as I thought I was to conquer it. However, after that incident, I learned quickly how to better budget my time and my study habits got better almost overnight. I graduated Cum Laude and was incredibly proud of all the effort that I put in to get there.

The program itself was challenging because it was very reading and writing intensive. The professors were engaging and encouraging, but were tough and did not take any excuses. The classes were all great—except American history ones—but that is because I have little interest in US History and focused mainly on Euro History.

I was able to obtain an internship that pertained to what I was I was interested in doing after graduation, which was to work in higher education.

Social Life:

I did not live on campus but went to so many events on campus, such as the annual Portfolio in Motion Fashion Show, Springfest, the comedians at Bernie's (eatery on campus), and lectures on campus. My favorite moment on campus was running into (literally) Carolina Herera before she went to the Fashion Show on campus.

Off campus, just 3 miles away, is Ballston and Clarendon, which have great places for live music, bars, and restaurants. There was always something catered to the college crowd on certain nights. Of course, DC is just a stones throw away.

Overall: I had a wonderful college experience, met some amazing people, and some not so great. There were times when I wish the class wasn't so small so I could hide, but I learned so much in my classes that going into grad school I was 100% prepared because the information we covered in my first semester of grad school was stuff that I learned while I was in undergrad.
