Emory is, well, Emory I suppose. There are pros and cons to this university. From my perspective this University is great if you are NOT pre-med. A lot of students are pre-med at Emory, and the school and professors know this. They purposefully make it very difficult for pre-med students to weed people out. The average for most of my pre-med classes have been ranging failing to a C+. There has not been one pre-med requisite class that I have been in that has had a class average over a C+. Very few professors that teach Pre-med classes are there to teacher, they are more involved in their own research, which in the past few years has had much success, i.e. Dr. Dennis Liotta. However, Emory does have some pros. It has a strong Business school and a strong reputation for the liberal arts. There are a lot of great professors and a lot of crummy ones, like any school. Emory is very Pre-professional, i.e. Pre-business, Pre-med, Pre-Law. I haven't met anyone in my 4 years at Emory who didn't fit into that category. Emory for most people is like a stepping stone. It creates a culture of just regurgitating info. and attentiveness to grades only, rather than what some would consider a conventional pursuit of education. While people do enjoy their time here it is real obvious that they came just for the name, which isn't bad if that's all you are looking for out of college, but just a warning for others who are looking for more.

Have you guys ever seen "Into the Wild" the book/movie that was about that Emory student who just decided to run away from civilization? Haha, food for thought!
