DeVry is an eclectic mix of success and utter failure. In some areas, they succeed like no other, but in others, you will be horribly disappointed. Your success in this college will depend on how much you can sacrifice in the name of the most abundant amounts of technical information you will find ANYWHERE.

There is no social life at DeVry, and that is mainly to blame for the massive rift between the types of students attending and how those groups interrelate. On one hand, you have the middle aged former failures that are now just getting their life together enough to attend college. They don't care about the socializing, they just want the piece of paper that will allow them a proper job. On the other hand, you have the students fresh out of high school who didn't want the insanity of the traditional college's tendency to preen youngsters for a life of alcoholism and shame. These students share time sporadically with one another, but unless you find yourself in one of the tight nit clicks that the school fosters, your chance at socialization is shit. The leader of the student life program tries to make social events happen, but the budget tends to be spent on making the school look professional, as opposed to making it a place worth fostering someone into a life of toil and work.

The programs here at DeVry are the best though, but also with their disadvantages. You will learn more technical information here than anywhere in the nation. When it comes to computers and programming, DeVry University has one of the most competent staffs I have ever seen. Getting information out of any of the academic team's grubby hands though is a task and a half. The professors seem to realize they are training their competition on the market, and will more often treat you like a peer as opposed to a student. Also, if you expect anything besides programming, computer engineering, or business studies, you are fuck-out-of-luck. One program has the gall to call itself Multimedia "Design", and this student though that it would be equal parts design and technical education (considering that's what the admission shark told me). But in all reality, the professor running the program thinks that marketing is done through the use of intricately placed coupons and that the only color worth using in anything is green. Of course, I can't tell if this is what he actually thinks or if he's just fucking with us for entertainment because of my former point.

If you choose this college, you will emerge a Phoenix reborn from the ashes of of your former self. You will have more technical knowledge than you will know what to do with, and if you take your education to heart, you WILL have a damn good job in only a few weeks. If you can't keep up with the class work, or the solitude starts gnawing at you, you will fail, and you will fail hard. If you are smart and tough, come on down to DeVry, we'll be pleased to have you, but slack off and this school will spit you out like a chewed piece of bubble gum.
