It is a place that people go when they cannot afford to start out at a real university. JTCC is basically where all of the high school seniors from Thomas Dale go when they earn low GPAs. It feels like you never really left high school because you are surrounded by the same or similar people during the day time classes. The night classes are a bit different. They're filled mostly with adults who work full-time jobs and go to school part-time. If you are looking for a more mature group of classmates, the evening classes are for you. Most of the administrative faculty is rude, including the financial aid department, admissions, and the testing facility. The online professors are a complete waste of time and some are even unprofessional. The English professors decide they dislike you if you are able to write better than them. Take all your classes on campus, unless you absolutely are not able to.Because there are two campuses, at least thirty minutes apart, scheduling is a hassle. If you are an art student, plan on being on the Midlothian campus constantly. The Chester campus offers all the general classes, but Midlothian has all of the interesting ones, like German and Arabic.Bottom line- this school is for adults trying to complete their education or a place to spend your time until you can get into a real school. |
