I was a 2001 graduate and got a BA in legal studies. The program was good and professors were good ( My adviser was wonderful and caring and I still miss her!) but career placement was terrible. Since I didn't already have a job in the legal industry as a legal secretary or assistant, when I graduated with a degree (3.88 GPA) but no experience, I found it extremely difficult to get a job in the area (especially since I was a female, adult learner with a family.... the good ole boy mentality was alive and well at work in the area.) The career placement center was useless and had few contacts to help find a job. When I moved out the area,VIC's lack of a good reputation hurt my chances of getting a job elsewhere. Now as a parent with a teen looking for a college, I cannot in conscience recommend this college to my own child.
