The programs and professors the school possesses are actually quite excellent. However, campus upkeep is not that great. Many of the departments outside of ones pertaining to your major are terrible at their jobs and tend to take it out on the students. The Financial Aid department messed up my FASFA paperwork several times, then turned around and accused me of not submitting it after I HAD 8 times in the previous week. Residence Life has pretty much no concern for the students, other than avoiding legal liabilities and earning revenue. The former head of Res. Life, was incredibly homophobic, and went out of his way to avoid doing anything for GBLT students other than providing them housing. He actually told the RAs to turn a blind eye to harassment and bullying in concern to GBLT students that asked for help. The woman who replaced him, Laura McCollough, is no better a human being. She isn't a higher-up at the university that you can trust. She's very two faced and speaks out both sides of her mouth. Her underling Jamie Napolski, also has a history of verbally abusing and blackmailing her student employees, so beware if you're considering getting a job with Res. Life. The entire department is filled with people who honestly do not care about the students, and only see them as a source of revenue. They also have a history of hiring RAs and RDs who wouldn't know how to wipe their own rears, let alone run the residence halls.I'd say, if you're going to attend this school, pay in cash and live off-campus from the start. I certainly wish I had. |
