I'm a out-of state student and I came to Cookman because during the visit they made it seem like the college of your dreams, yet it's the college from hell. I knew after my first semester at Cookman that I shouldn't be there, however my mother felt it best to come back this year, but I WILL be transferring back home next semester. My freshman year at Cookman was so-so. First semester was fun, because of the band and football season and just the excitement of being in college. However the curfew sucked, no co-ed visitation sucked, and the food was only passable. You wait in line to get one spoonful of whatever they're serving and if you want more of the food you pay for you have to get BACK in line and wait for another spoonful. Financial Aid sucks. This year cookman basically kicked all upperclassmen off campus because they admitted way too many freshman. Meaning all upperclassmen had to find apartments because Cookman doesn't provide housing for all their students. The school is just ridiculous and I'll be more than happy to leave. My advice? DO NOT COME HERE! regardless of the phrase "COLLEGE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT" these are the facts, if you can deal with the drama cookman brings then you'll fit right in but if you want to spend your money to a school that's quality OVER quantity..then cookman is NOT the place for you. |
