Most of the students who have issues are not giving a 110%, nor are they familiar with how colleges work. College is different from highschool and you have to be willing to do the work to succeed. I was in the Honor's College so a lot of information was shared with me. I believe TSU should do a better job of preparing those first-generation college students and their retention rates would be better. Even so, I had a great experience. I was prepared for graduate school upon graduation and was able to compete with students from Ivy Leagues and other notable state schools to get a job. Take advantage of everything that TSU offers. I learned alot from my professors and became a great writer and learned valuable critical thinking skills. I love my job and I accredit a lot of it to first God, and second TSU.
