The reason I want to say something about Marymount Manhattan, is for the people who are looking into the school, reading these comments and second guessing what could possibly be an amazing move for them. I went to Marymount Manhattan as a transfer last spring from LIU Brooklyn, which was a complete and total joke. The reason I chose MMC is because it was close to my house and I needed to ground myself after the awful semester I experienced at LIU. Marymount felt heaven sent. To be honest? the staff is incredible, the people are welcoming and the experience is very New York.

I saw a few negative comments about people

don't come to this school, not worth the money, you won't have the college experience
… those people CLEARLY are not familiar with New York, nor what college is suppose to really be about. I am not 21 and I go out drinking all the time, even when I don't have my fake ID. You can always meet people to hangout with and just have fun with. There are other schools in New York such as New School or NYU where you can meet other people and see that they are having the same experience as the one one would have at Marymount. MMC college experience isn't going to be your typical college experience because it's in New York, but more specifically it is located in one of the richest (non-social) parts of New York. All this means is that you need to go out and find places to go, talk to people… be social. Any atmosphere is really just what YOU chose to make of it.

As for academically, Marymount really helped me find my niche. The teachers DO care and frankly if you come across a teacher you don't like, talk to the admissions/your advisor and let them know the problem… they WILL help you! The classes can be difficult, but they lay down their expectations at the very beginning of class. One thing that's really nice about the classes are how small they are; you can meet really good people and also really learn different ideas from your fellow classmates, because of the atmosphere that's set up.
If I didn't want to get out of the city to dorm and be away from home, i'd stay at Marymount. I love the school a lot and I think that any new positive edition to the school will only help its never ending potentials grow!
