I transferred to LU as a sophmore so i did not get the LU freshman experience. But first the good...professors that i have had except for 1 have all been caring, understandable, helpful and care about educating you versus just getting paid and not caring if you show up for class. the campus is beautiful and st. charles..as long as you stay out of trouble is alright, I lived in the dorms, which suck no personal freedom, i suggest a house on campus, more freedom and feel more independent. now on to the negative, campus security sucks, the students..legit do not know how to drive, they speed they do not stop for stop signs practically every other car i see has damage. campus maintenance sucks..sure they have students go out and help for work and learn but the leaves in the fall...seriously..i have twisted my ankle due to not knowing how far a step that ended up being 2 steps covered in leaves plus it just looks like sh!t. security is lazy. there was 3 attacks on campus within 1 week on females walking to there car in the mid afternoon, evening hours. several of the older buildings do not have air conditioning so it gets HOT. and during the winter they blast the heat and it's still hot. in the dorms they leave the heaters off until either enough people complain or its well into the winter. they spend more money on the presidents house rather than using that money to fix student housing. (although the new evans commons is great) food quality sucks and its the same crap every 2 wks. both cafeteria's are always packed, not much to do in the town unless your 21. if your a student athlete your pretty much granted a passing grade..i know cuz i used to be 1..every1 cares about football and only hangs out with people they went to HS with since majority of the students are from missouri and stl area. all the foriengers hang together and all the sports team's hang with only their teammates. parking sucks although they put more parking lots in. school was so cheap they do almost anything to make a buck or to save money. the business offices are a joke, they have regular students working in the main offices which things get lost and not completed..transferring in was a mess and transferring out is one also. it's an ok school for in state students and it is beautiful but was not right for me out of 4 semesters i only enjoyed 1 semester if that, i have always been one to tough things out and stand strong but here emotionally it drained me and once i leave i really do not want to be reminded of this place. as for sports..i played hockey if you do not have money to donate to the sport don't even bother. going to ncaa D1 school now to play where they think im good enough but at LU they didnt think i could hack it so sure they win but they know nothing about individual athleticism and only care about records and money.
